Hi again,
Last week, all of Year 7 participated in a Mini Inquiry unit, taking up the whole of Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We were in groups of about 5 girls. For most of the first day, and a few hours of the second we did research, research and more research. We started with an umbrella question that was provided by out teachers, “How is education a ticket to a better life?”, and then were told to make a focus question in our own words, which for us was, “How do you set the compass for your education?”. Under our focus question, we discussed and concluded on 3 smaller questions, which had to be incorporated in our final presentation. Ours were “How do the religions and beliefs of your family and country affect the education you recieve?”, “How does your gender affect your education?” and “What price do you put on education?”. We also ended our presentation with “Is education something you lack because of your luck?”, which we thought was quite effective.
During Thursday and Friday we created our presentations that would later be showed to the Year 7 teachers and students on Friday afternoon. The whole process was really interesting and I found out heaps about education in third world countries, and how much your religions and gender affect what sort, if any you receive.
So yeah, I’d appreciate it if you took a peek at the presentation that I will try and attach, I think it is really well made. Note: watch it in full screen as one of the slides doesn’t work if you don’t, because of its transitions.
How is education a ticket to a better life?
Love Gen

Your presentation is very well researched. You have used some great persuasive strategies to convince your audience. I would like to share your presentation and ePortfolio with some teachers near Darwin in the Northern Territory.
